Admission Requirements
 
  • Have an MBA or a master’s degree in business-related subjects from a recognised university or equivalent; and
  • Have substantial years (normally 10 years or above) of managerial or professional experience at an appropriate level; and

  • Demonstrate proficiency in English language, such as completion of a degree programme taught in English. For those who did not graduate from an English-speaking programme:

    • TOEFL score of 550 or above for the paper-based test/ 79 or above for the internet-based test; or
    • IELTS score of 6.5 or above (or equivalent score on a comparable test) is required.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an admission interview conducted in English by an interview panel of the School.

Application Period

* All student visa applicants are advised to submit your study application ahead of the deadline as it normally takes six weeks to process a visa.

 
Application starts now until 7 June 2023 (for non-local), 24July 2023 (for local).
 

Application & Programme Fee

The programme fee for the entire DBA programme for 2023/24 is ^HK$788,000, payable in four instalments:

Second $197,000 Trimester III of Year 1, around Feb/March 2024
Third $197,000 Trimester II of Year 2, around Nov/Dec 2024
Fourth $197,000 Trimester II of Year 3, around Nov/Dec 2025
Total ^HK$788,000  

* The normal study period is 3 years, hence a continuation fee will be applied on the 5th and 6th year of study. The fee for the 5th year is $12,000 and the fee for the 6th year is $24,000 each year (such fee on the 4th year is waived).

 

 

Distinction Scholarship

In each academic year, DBA students will be awarded a DBA Distinction Scholarship of HK$6,000 if they have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.67 or above at graduation, have no course grade below B-, have not repeated any courses (subject to the same conditions applied to the Distinction academic standing) and can graduate within four years without suspension.

Application Methods

Application Methods

  1. Complete the online application form.

  2. Consider choosing one academic referee and one professional referee. The academic referee should be able to comment on your academic ability and preferably have direct experience of your academic work. The professional referee can be your current or previous employer who should be able to assess your professional abilities.

  3. Check the accuracy of your referee’s email addresses as reference request emails are sent to your referees once you submit your application. Referees are contacted by the Graduate School via email with detailed instructions on how to submit an online reference form.

  4. Upload all the supporting documents together with the Application Form to the Graduate School Website and pay the non-refundable application fee.

Preliminary Review

Your application is NOT considered complete until the Graduate School Office receives all the required documents. Completed applications are reviewed by the admission committee, and short-listed candidates are invited for interview.

 
Selection Interview

Applications operate on a rolling basis. Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview during the application period or until all places are filled. Each candidate will be interviewed by 2 faculty members.

 
Tuition Payment

Accepted applicants must pay the non-refundable first instalment of the tuition fees to confirm their place.

 
Orientation Day

Once the registration process has been completed, you are invited to an orientation before the programme commences.
